Leaning into Jesus
This ministry flows from an understanding that true and lasting encouragement can only be found in Jesus but our response also requires action as we learn to 'Lean In' to Him more fully with our lives. This ministry was formed out from some encouragement to 'Lean In' to some of the unique passions and gifts he has given and specifically to find ways to share the good news of Jesus and be a light for Him in the world of athletics.
My name is Jamie Ramer. My own journey of faith was influenced by a College Coach (Briecrest College) , a Sports Ministry Organization (Hockey Ministries International) and number of others who encouraged me to 'Lean In' Jesus and my faith in the context of of the world of hockey. The journey lead me into full time ministry in and through sports for the past 26 years. I spent 14 years serving with Hockey Ministries International as a missionary in Sweden and as chaplain and chapel coordinator in Ontario serving the OHL, OUA and other levels of Junior Hockey. I returned to Coach the Briercrest College Hockey program 2014 for 5 seasons. Since 2019, I have served as as an Assistant Athletic Director at Briercrest College and been involved with various opportunities to support and encourage athletes, coaches and chaplains in and beyond my role including serving as the chaplain for the Moose Jaw Warriors with Hockey Ministries International. I previously Ordained for Ministry in the world hockey and most recently Credentialled for Chaplaincy by Saskatchewan Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches.
Lean In Ministries was birthed to help resource and support ministry needs, projects and opportunities where time and funding might otherwise be limiting factor. It also allows for partnerships with likeminded Organizations, Ministries and Churches.
Lean In Ministries is a mission of International Christian Ministries Services (ICMS) ICMS is a registered charity in Canada with Canada Revenue Agency and in the US with the Internal Revenue Service. In this capacity we carefully review and undertake projects that fit within our missional objectives on behalf of both Canadian and American donors, and provide appropriate direction, control and oversight to each.
